Our Story and Mission

НЧ "Развитие-1893" is a cornerstone cultural institution in Belogradchik with over 130 years of history. Today, we proudly bridge tradition and innovation by connecting young people from the Balkans and across Europe through Erasmus+ youth mobility programs.

As an Erasmus+ accredited organization, we create transformative experiences that empower youth through international exchanges, training courses, and partnership projects focused on personal development, intercultural learning, and social inclusion.

Founded in 1893, Народно читалище "Развитие-1893" has been at the heart of Belogradchik's cultural and educational life for more than a century. As a traditional Bulgarian chitalishte (community cultural center), we have preserved and promoted Bulgarian customs, folklore, and traditions while continuously evolving to meet the needs of our community.

Located at pl. Vǎzrazhdane 1 in Belogradchik, our institution serves as a vibrant hub where tradition meets innovation, and local heritage connects with European opportunities.

We actively work to create and spread spiritual values by developing creative abilities and satisfying the cultural, educational, informational, and social needs of our community. Through Erasmus+ programs, we extend this mission across borders, fostering intercultural dialogue and youth empowerment throughout Europe.
